There are some anticipated reactions during the repair phase, these can be uncomfortable, but we will recommend products to ease any discomfort.

Yes, ZO® uses resurfacing agents and active ingredients, you will go through an initial repair phase where the skin is correcting.

Anticipated reactions are expected and range from mild to severe. You can expect flaking, peeling, stinging and redness, however, all reactions are normal and signify repair.

These anticipated reactions can be controlled by using comforting products and altering retinol product usage.

You will start to see results after 6 weeks; this is how long it takes for your skin to go through the initial repair phase.

To further treat skin conditions a ZO® facial or chemical peel treatment once a week for 4-6 weeks and then maintenance treatments once a month is advised.

Maintaining skincare – attending all follow up appointments will keep your skincare protocol up to date and relevant to where you are in your skin journey.

We advise all skincare patients to have at least one intense course of peels a year as cellular activity slows as we age. For those suffering with severe skin conditions such as acne, it is recommended to have at least 3 courses a year. This may be less depending on other skin treatments incorporated in your treatment plan.

Each ZO® skincare protocol is tailored to you. It is carefully designed to your needs. This also may vary from time to time, depending on the seasons and the ageing process. Your skin in 10 years’ time may not have the same needs as it does now.

What expect from your home care and procedures will be spoken about during your consultation.

We advise when treating acute/chronic skin conditions to have a ZO® peel/facial procedure once a week for 4-6 weeks and then maintenance treatments once a month. For our ZO Medical 3 Step peel, it’s advised once every 3-4 weeks, and then maintenance 2-3 x a year.

I personally advise all my patients to have at least one intense course of peels a year as cellular activity slows as we age, and we are prone to skin disease.

For my SKINBOSS patients treating severe skin conditions such as acne I advise up to 3 courses a year, however this may be less depending on other skin procedures incorporated into their treatment programme.
