These patches can appear anywhere on the body but typically are seen on your elbows, knees, scalp and lower back. Psoriasis affects around 2% of people in the UK and can start at any age, but most often develops in adults under 35 years old. It affects both men and women and the severity of psoriasis varies greatly from person to person. Flare ups can be mild to severe and for some it can majorly affect their quality of life.
Psoriasis is a long-lasting (chronic) disease that cannot be cured and will involve periods when you have no symptoms followed by periods when symptoms can vary in severity. Although we cannot cure the disease that triggers these flare ups, we can treat the symptoms associated.
Depending on the severity of the symptoms I will place you on a medical home program approved by the eczema foundation to first repair the irritated skin followed by a course of Dermalux LED to heal and regenerate.
